John had the opportunity to speak to NY times bestseller James Nestor the day after James found out his book Breath made it to #6 on the NY Times Bestsellers list! While researching for his book, James found out that the human skull has drastically changed over time. The modern skull has a smaller mouth and smaller airways — the reason why so many suffer from sleep apnea, snore at night and have respiratory issues.
James did an experiment documented in his book, where he plugged both of his nostrils for 10 days. As he started only breathing through his mouth, his health started declining drastically.
